Overview

Spa Ceylon Ayurveda began operating in 2021 as a franchise in Jeddah, specializing in luxury Ayurveda skincare products. Ayurveda, known as the "science of life," promotes holistic wellness through the use of natural herbal products. While globally recognized, the luxury Ayurveda market in Saudi Arabia is relatively untapped, and Spa Ceylon aimed to be a leader in this space.

Despite the potential, the brand initially faced significant challenges. With monthly e-commerce sales ranging between SAR 4,000 to SAR 8,000, Spa Ceylon set an ambitious goal to increase sales to SAR 200,000 per month. However, the business was hindered by several issues, including weak digital marketing, poor branding, and low market awareness of Ayurveda products.

In November 2023, Spa Ceylon launched a targeted marketing campaign with a budget of SAR 80,000, leveraging their website, Instagram, and key digital marketing techniques like User-Generated Content (UGC) and the official brand kit. By February 2024, the campaign successfully generated SAR 1.27 million in sales, surpassing their goals.

Challenges

Before launching the campaign, Spa Ceylon faced several key obstacles:

  1. Low Awareness of Luxury Ayurveda in Saudi Arabia: There was minimal knowledge of the Ayurveda philosophy and its benefits among potential customers.
  2. Weak Branding and Online Presence: Both the Instagram account and the website lacked a clear identity and consistent messaging.
  3. Lack of a Digital Marketing Strategy: The absence of a cohesive strategy meant underutilization of Instagram ads and other potential advertising channels.
  4. Inconsistent Social Media Activity: Sporadic posting and lack of engagement on social platforms resulted in low follower growth and brand recognition.
